Powermac G5, Macbook, Mac Mini, G4, Mac OS X (10.7.1) Posted on Mar 6, 2016 4:48 PM Reply I have this question too (4) I have this question too Me too (4) Me too.
I have a 'late 2014' mac mini that can display 4k(bought it specifically for that purpose). However, as most people are sadly discovering, running your computer on a 4K display, in my case a 65 incher, text and dialog boxes are too small to be useful. Thus, goodbye 4k usage except for limited times when you just want to watch a 4k video from Youtube, otherwise, because everything is so tiny, it's essentially useless.
Now I've read that Windows on a PC's attempt to address this problem by scaling of the OS text and dialog boxes. But unfortunately it seems Apple is not addressing this. Yes, If you have it connected to one of their 4K display they do attempt to make the text bigger, but not for the rest of the 4K's out there. I don't know why this is not being addressed, there are a lot of 4K tv's out there being used as computer monitors, and much more to come. I guess it just frustrates me that I have this beautiful 4K display and Apple doesn't seem to be addressing it. Even the brand new Apple TV 4, which I own, no 4K! I always look at Apple as being innovative, ahead of the game, but in the 4K arena, why?
There's my little gripe for what it's worth.
