MacOS (formerly 'Mac OS X' and later 'OS X') is a line of open core graphical operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Apple Inc., the latest of which is pre-loaded on all currently shipping Macintosh computers. MacOS is the successor to the original classic Mac OS, which had been Apple's primary operating system since 1984.
Hey ...
I'm doing some updates/upgrades to my wife's mid-2010 Mac Pro (5,1) ... I installed an SSD for the boot drive, and a couple 6TB HGST for data and backup. Booted the computer, everything worked great. Rebooted the computer - the 6TB HGST HDDs wouldn't mount. Rebooted again - same thing. Cold start boot - everything is fine again.
Turns out, I didn't do my research very well, and this has been documented before:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7132585?start=0&tstart=0
The basic gist of that thread is that the SSD boots so quickly, and the 6TB HGST HDDs require a little more time to spin up ... so, on a reboot, they are too slow to mount. On a cold start, they mount fine. After discussions with Apple and HGST, no one expects any updates that would fix this issue.
My questions ... At the very end of thread that I linked, someone mentions using Tinkertool System to automatically mount the drives before login, and then using Cocktail to delay startup by 20 to 30 seconds. Do any of you have any experience with Tinkertool System and/or Cocktail? Before I make another mistake, I'd like to figure out if this will help or hurt the system.

Also ... if anyone has any advice on the 6TB HGST not mounting, I'd appreciate any input.
Thanks!
I agree 100%.Not a 'Pro' feature at all, but related to the 'Apple Watch integration' theme: LET ME SEE MY HEALTH AND WORKOUT DATA ON MY iPAD!
Lots of good suggestions here.
It sounds like what is being asked is growing iPadOS to be more like macOS. Or are we basically asking for a version of macOS that is designed for touch?
When this generation launches, there’s probably gonna be absolutely zero technical barriers to pull up Mac OS on an iPad Pro when needed or preferred. Perhaps it’s a mess, and nobody wants it.. and it’s dumb.. but the “pro” camp might find it useful. What would you like to see?
